With two daughters, two fur-babies, and a work-from-home husband, the pandemic made me realize how important our homes truly are to our overall well-being. I began helping family and friends make their own homes fit their unique needs. Together we got rid of clutter, unpacked heirlooms and mementos, and created rooms that not only looked "pinterest worthy" but felt like extensions of themselves. We made space for what was important. We made homes.
I do things a bit differently in my approach. My formal background is not in design. Rather, I hold a M.Ed in Teaching & Learning in Gifted Education. I understand the impact of our environment on our children and our own mental health. I plan spaces through a trauma-informed and neurodivergent-inclusive lens, thinking beyond a room's basic functions. I want every member of your family to feel heard at home. That you have a space to pursue your talents. That you have space to decompress after a long day. That your smallest members of the household have space to grow into independent adults.
Yes, your home will be beautiful. But more importantly, it will function as you need it to. It won't feel like the cover a magazine.. It will feel like your home.
